CHROME EXTENSION
Qkeep for Chrome
The Qkeep extension puts your QTC wallet in the Chrome toolbar. It asks for no access to the websites you visit and keeps your keys encrypted on your computer.
Install it
- Open Qkeep on the Chrome Web Store and choose Add to Chrome.
- Pin Qkeep from the puzzle icon in the toolbar so it is always one click away.
- Open it and create a new wallet, or restore yours from your 24-word seed.
The extension also works in other Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Brave and Edge.
What it can access
Only its own storage and a timer for the automatic lock. It requests no permission to read or change websites, browsing history or page content. It talks only to the Qkeep relay, which returns balances, history, fees and the QTC price and broadcasts the transactions you sign.
Popup and full tab
Checking your balance, receiving, copying addresses and switching accounts happen right in the toolbar popup. Longer tasks, such as creating a wallet, restoring a seed, adding an account or sending, open in a full tab, because a popup closes as soon as it loses focus.
Its own wallet
The extension keeps its own encrypted wallet, separate from the web wallet. To use the same accounts in both places, restore your seed in each. The extension locks itself after 15 minutes.
Questions
Why does Chrome not warn about site access?
Because the extension asks for none. It reaches the Qkeep relay through a standard cross-origin request that only this extension is allowed to make.
Will updates keep my wallet?
Yes. Chrome updates the extension in place and your encrypted wallet stays where it is. After an update you may need to unlock again.
